From the D&T Game Icon to a Pixel-Art Gaming Shirt

We took the square game icon out of its badge and rebuilt the composition as a standalone print graphic for a shirt.

Transparent D&T pixel-art shirt graphic with a red sunset, yellow lightning bolt, and three heroes

A game icon with room to breathe

The DYNAMITE 'N' THUNDER icon was made to read at a glance inside a small square. Its rounded red-and-cream frame helped it stand out as an app icon, but that frame was part of the badge—not part of the shirt design.

For the apparel graphic, we removed the enclosing border and the solid square behind it. The red sunset and purple skyline, the big D&T letters, the lightning bolt, the three pixel heroes, and their rocky base now form one standalone composition.

Transparent art for different shirt colors

The new PNG keeps transparency outside the artwork. That lets the fabric show through around the graphic, so the design can be placed on more than one shirt color without carrying a square black background with it.

The black shapes inside the design remain part of the pixel art. Only the space outside the composition is transparent, which keeps the letters, outlines, and characters readable.

Keeping the chunky pixels crisp

Pixel art should keep its hard edges when it gets bigger. We prepared a 5016-by-5016 PNG at 300 DPI, enlarged four times with crisp pixel edges rather than smoothing the characters into a different style.

The result is a print-size file for a large chest graphic. It preserves the original artwork and its deliberately blocky look; the larger canvas gives a printer more pixels to work with without pretending the source art has new fine detail.

A new piece of GameThunder gear

This shirt graphic brings together the game's three heroes and its fire-and-lightning identity in one print. It started as an icon, but the details that make it feel like D&T—the sunset, the bolt, the big lettering, and the party of pixel contenders—now have the whole front of a shirt to themselves.
